- It's of water.
- It's of ginger, peeled and thinly sliced.
- You need of grated lemon zest.
- You need of raw cane sugar/coconut sugar.
- It's of sea salt.
- It's of mint leaves.
- Prepare of lemon wedges.
- You need of Sparkling water.
- You need of Ice cubes.
Ginger Ale step by step
- In a saucepan put ginger, lemon zest and water. Boil it on high heat for 5 minutes..
- Add sugar, simmer for 20 minutes or till the liquid reduces to 3 cups..
- When it is just warm add shredded mint leaves and sea salt. Leave it to cool down..
- Use a fine strainer to strain out all the solids..
- You can refrigerate this concentrated syrup in a glass bottle up to a week..
- When you want to use it mix 1/4th cup of the syrup with 3 parts of sparkling water/soda. Pour it over a few ice cubes in a glass..
- Throw in a lemon wedge and few mint leaves. Serve instantly..
